Biodiversity in the cosmetics industry
Biodiversity on our planet is decreasing. This affects not only the biodiversity of plants, animals and other life forms, but also the diversity of habitats. This has a dramatic impact on all of us, as humans depend on an intact nature in many ways. Cosmetics companies also face major challenges - not least because biodiversity is the source of many cosmetic raw materials. Protecting biodiversity and treating nature and people with respect are therefore essential for companies.
Many cosmetics companies have recognized this and are already taking countless measures to counteract the loss of biodiversity along the entire supply chain. Starting with the procurement of raw materials, cultivation and harvesting, production, transport and respectful treatment of all people involved, there are many valuable examples that can serve as inspiration for other companies.
