IKW statistics prove: cosmetics are very well tolerated

A sample calculation for 2011 illustrates the high safety of the products: for one million packages sold in the field of body care products, the member companies of IKW have notified on average only 1.3 cases of health intolerance.

These intolerances are in most cases slight skin or mucous irritations as well as allergic reactions. The cases which occur are documented by the members and statistically evaluated by IKW. More than 90 % of the notified cases concern irritations. The Competence Partner Beauty Care within IKW has compiled these statistics for already more than 30 years. The IKW members covered by the survey represent a turnover part of more than 95 % in Germany.
